I mean obviously there are tons of reviews and opinions out there and I even had the chance to try out the bike briefly during the open house last year (sigh .. good old times) but having it here at home really made difference on how I look at it. Quality is excellent so far but I cannot yet comment on durability (too new) but if you can afford it do not hesitate as it adds a whole new dimension to indoor training. The locking mechanism is fine and safe, but I find that under high power such as sprinting efforts, it wiggles. Anyway, point is now you can. Its a nice break from the day to day sports-tech talk, and I hope you get something out of it! That way I could keep difficulty at 35-40% while still taking full advantage of the "climb" functionality. The second problem, they said they aren't aware of this issue when it's not 2 apps opened so I had no solution (just that the bike magically started working again). I wouldnt buy a KICKR Bike as a Im still gonna love it in 5 years type purchase. Would be a classic me if a new Version would be introduced while I tighten the last screw. Or, really any other non-trainer app that you just wanted to record power so you can have it be tracked within your ecosystem. Pros: easy set-up, works excellent with Zwift (I use Bluetooth connection), adjustable (especially nice if you have multiple riders and limited space). The Wahoo KICKR Bike was the only bike that didnt broadcast power from all of the indoor smart bikes in this segment (Stages/Elite/Tacx/Wattbike/Wahoo, Peloton does not broadcast power however). Might get better with a firmware upgrade but I doubt it. But Wahoo should just be ashamed for not sending out this software update sooner. Thats better than before but I wonder if they can broadcast speed too. If the bike is used by one person, you can set it and forget it, that is great. The lock down is good, but not great. you can't supertuck on zwift whilst it's happening, your avatar just doesn't go into the position until it hits zero, by then, you've been dropped of a pack on a downhill. Based on years of smart trainer experience this looks to be the most fully featured Smart Bike released to date. Fit: used the wizard which got ballpark, so went the measuring tape and angle route compared to my road bike, then some micro adjustments based on feel. The bolt heads are cheap though and not deep enough so they will start to round off over 20 NM or so. As such, the KICKR Bike gets its boxes in the coming days to go back home to Wahoo as usual. So if you connect F6 via ANT FE-C then any other device becomes a slave so it works badly with Zwift as Zwift tries to control the bike and so does the Garmin F6 which eventually leads to everything being wrong. The new Atom Bike was rushed into production way too early to gain some of the covid induced purchasing of indoor training equipment and whenever a Company puts profit above the Customer I am not interested. For multiple riders I would rate it at 2.5-3 stars because of the instability of the clamping mechanisms. Is the KICKR Bike the best indoor smart bike for a Zwift/TrainerRoad/etc type person? Now if they realized a steering upgrade / new bars and stopped all the Creaking/ Clicking i would give it a 10. P.S. Ill second that about the 10 mounting bolts detailed as 26Nm on page 2 of the Wahoo maintenance pdf. Note: I did try the Taxc its a great product, but i found it harder to get support bet there Riding feel is much better that the Wahoo. Overall I would rate the bike 4 stars for a single rider. Since the files from Zwift and TrainerRoad synced to Garmin Connect still dont inexplicably update/impact training load, that means you had to dual record if you wanted these metricswhichis kinda a reason youd buy a higher-end Garmin watch. This could be that for you but so far it only deserves 4 out of 5, especially considering the pricing. Wanted to run my Edge 830 while using the kickr bike and zwift - kept having the gears freeze on the bike. Set it up to mirror my road bike with SRAM eTAP, and all worked well; the top tube is wider than a standard frame and it can be a little annoying having your thigh rub against it once the sweat gets flowing, but not a big deal for me. I think this is attributable to the shape of the post in that the clamp cannot grip the post well without a high force applied. It connects instantly, but no data is received from the bike. What has been disastrous for me My initial experience was wonderful (In comparison to my previous trainer- The Saris H3.) Received our KICKR Bike in August 2020. a couple weeks ago, Wahoo sent me the brand new Kickr Bike, it was a complete surprise Not a bad surprise hey?! I have yet to sort this one out, but my suspicion is I am the unlucky customer that keeps getting bars from the same batch that have the same manufacturing fault. I love my bike at this time i have about 3.6k miles on the clock and overall its held up well. It would be great if Zwift would make the steering function work with available buttons on the Kickr Bike. Hope this helps others avoid the 2 days of frustration it took me to get everything working. Both experiences with customer service were good and the parts were replaced promptly. Especially when comparing it to my more traditional setup (CORE, Climb, road bike) the ride experience feels so polished (relatively silent, no vibrations, no cross chaining no matter what you do etc.) And last but not least: Happy wife, happy life! Ive done all updates and so far everything is okay. The problem people are having with this solution is that even in free ride there can be some weird feelings in resistance. Interval power adjustments are near instant, which makes short efforts a lot more effective and much less frustrating. Because in Rays Article it says And the earlier added Bluetooth Smart power broadcasting to the KICKR Bike in a different firmware update but as far as I know it doesnt work, FYI -got the Kickr Bike and hooked it up with the Polar V650 Bike Computer. Okay, just being a little facetious! 3. And the bike tilting during climbs and descents is just another layer of realism for the indoor experience. This isnt directed to Wahoo specifically, but the entire group of mainstream indoor smart bikes for this segment that are without WiFi (the TrueKinetix bike does have WiFi, as does the aforementioned Peloton bikes, and a few others). I purchased the New Atom Bike but found the lower gear was simply too high and the only solution was for Atom Support to walk me through how I could diagnose the problem and fix. All while they launched a new product WITH the ANT+ Power output. Think my written reviews are deep? I'm optimistic this will be resolved, but could really do without the reliability problems. OK stuff: Over time, we have stopped using the tilt feature as it was fun initially, but just became unimportant over time. This post is gonna be a quickie, mostly cause in the grand scheme of things its probably not going to be of relevance to that many people since theres not that many people with KICKR Bikes out there. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Oh, dont forget to delete the auto-profile on the Wahoo app that the bike fit wizard sets up and create a new one with your groupset and gear ratios. But, another 3 weeks down the line, and hey. I assume it will eventually using the buttons on the hoods. . P.S. The momentum of the flywheel/motor on the flats and climbs seems pretty realistic. My max power so far has been about 1200W and required some thrashing about. I haven't had this amazing customer experience everyone raves about with wahoo. Wahoo customer support is 100% always there and willing to help. Until another 3 weeks, and the same issue again. 3. from JS October 2, 2020I've used a Kickr Snap with my old (Giant OCR3, circa 2004) road bike for about 6 years on Zwift. I assume it will eventually using the buttons on the hoods. The Wahoo KICKR Bike is a completely different beast and it has completely changed my view of indoor training. It would be great if Zwift would make the steering function work with available buttons on the Kickr Bike. I found it impossible to match surges in races and there was also no ERG mode for doing FTP tests. Its completely bomb proof its always connects, never has glitches very stable.
